Alabama to bid on three road projects March 28
The Alabama Department of Transportation will open bids on March 28 for three local road projects planned for this summer. These projects will be funded by a grant aimed at improving transportation in the state. One project will focus on the intersection of Alabama 24 and South Greenway Drive in Trinity. The state will enhance turn lanes and modify traffic signals at this busy intersection. The other two projects will involve resurfacing sections of Interstate 65. The first will involve paving I-65 from Hurricane Creek to just south of Alabama 67. This also includes raising the bridge at Parker Road. The second resurfacing project will take place on I-65 from south of Alabama 36 to south of Interstate 565. This area includes plans to raise the bridge at Upper River Road. Parts of I-65 involved in these projects are located in Morgan and Limestone counties.
