He called the wisteria outside the vicarage "awful" and "artificial." He believes viewers can easily tell it is not real. Tessa, one of the guests, questioned him about his opinion. Alan insisted that even the public would notice the fake flowers. He compared it to another show, Bridgerton, saying both have unrealistic details. Rishi noted that this is not the first time such feedback has been heard. Alan pointed out that wisteria typically flowers from May to June, questioning why it is always shown. Despite the criticism, Tessa argued that Grantchester is set in early summer, which could justify the wisteria’s appearance.
