Alberta students excel in staging "Mamma Mia!" production

Students at Oscar Romero High School in Edmonton performed a vibrant version of the musical "Mamma Mia!", showcasing their talent and hard work. The production transported audiences to a Greek island with its lively music and compelling story. The show tells the tale of Sophie, a bride-to-be who invites three men from her mother’s past to find out who her dad is. It features songs by ABBA and is filled with themes of love, friendship, and self-discovery. The attention to detail in the set, props, and costumes enhanced the performance. The cast, made up of 92 students, displayed impressive teamwork and dedication. Dalia Vezzosi played Sophie with energy, while Kazia Dziarmaga, as her mother Donna, captivated the audience with her powerful singing and emotional depth. Standout performances also came from Gianna MacFarlane, who brought humor and charm to her role as Rosie. The choreography was crafted by students, adding a fresh and energetic touch to the musical.
