Alex Eala advances to main draw of Canberra tennis tournament

Alex Eala has advanced to the main draw of the Women’s Tennis Association 125 Workday Canberra International. She won her final qualifying match against Alana Subasic, coming back from a set down to win 5-7, 6-0, 6-1. Eala, 19, previously defeated Catherine Aulia 6-1, 6-2 in her first qualifying match. This marks her first main draw appearance in 2025. In addition to singles, Eala will compete in doubles with Japan's Sayaka Ishi, starting their campaign on Tuesday against a Canadian-French pair. Eala is currently ranked World No. 147.
