Alex Eala falls to Wei Sijia in Canberra semifinal match

Alex Eala lost to China's Wei Sijia, 7-5, 6-2, in the semifinals of the Women’s Tennis Association 125 Canberra International. The match lasted 1 hour and 28 minutes, ending Eala's strong run in the tournament. Eala led 5-4 in the first set but could not maintain her advantage. Wei dominated the second set, starting with a 5-0 lead before Eala won two games. Despite the loss, Eala had a successful start to 2025, winning five matches to reach the semifinals.
