Alex Eala finishes tennis season with semifinal loss in Dubai
Alex Eala finished her tennis season with a semifinal loss to top seed Polina Kudermetova at the ITF W100 Dubai tournament. Eala lost in three sets, 4-6, 6-2, 6-2, after initially leading the match. Despite a strong start, Eala struggled with her serve, committing eight double faults. This performance contrasts with her earlier matches, where she had shown improvement in her service game. Eala ends the year ranked 149th in the WTA standings and is no longer the top player in Southeast Asia. That title now belongs to Thailand's Mananchaya Sawangkaew, who is ranked 128th. Eala will prepare for the Australian Open qualifiers starting January 6.
