Alex Eala reaches semifinals at WTA 125 Canberra International

Alex Eala, a 19-year-old tennis player from the Philippines, has reached the semifinals of the WTA 125 Canberra International. This marks her first semifinal appearance in a WTA event, following a comeback win against Taylah Preston. Eala won the quarterfinal match after losing the first set 4-6. She rallied to take the second set 6-2 and dominated the third set 6-1, completing the match in nearly two hours. Eala's next challenge will be against the winner of the match between Sijia Wei of China and Simona Waltert of Switzerland.
