On the Billboard charts, "Ordinary" jumped from No. 64 to 43 on the Hot 100 and from No. 37 to 26 on the Global 200. Kevin Weaver, president of Atlantic Records' West Coast branch, expressed excitement about Warren's potential, stating he has the talent to become a global superstar. Weaver had pitched "Ordinary" to the show's music supervisor before its release, believing it would be a hit. He envisioned the show using contemporary music, as earlier seasons had used library music. Weaver saw the connection between Warren’s personal story behind "Ordinary" and the show's themes. Michael Parker, Vice President of A&R at Atlantic Records, highlighted how Warren's musicality and marketing skills made him a delight to work with.
