All Blacks coach interested in Kalyn Ponga's potential switch

New Zealand rugby coach Scott Robertson is open to talking with Kalyn Ponga, a star player from the NRL. Ponga, who captains the Newcastle Knights, has shown interest in switching from rugby league to rugby union. He has roots in New Zealand and wants to play for the All Blacks someday. Robertson mentioned on a podcast that they would welcome a conversation if Ponga approached them. He praised Ponga as a talented player. Currently, Ponga is under contract with the Knights until 2027. Despite this, there have been many rumors about his future in Australia and New Zealand. Ponga has not played for either New Zealand or Australia in a rugby league test match, but both countries want him on their teams. His father and manager said that Ponga is focused on his club and not thinking about international play right now. New Zealand Rugby has had success in attracting league players before. Sonny Bill Williams, for example, won two World Cups with the All Blacks after playing rugby league. Recently, Roger Tuivasa-Sheck also made the switch but returned to league last year.
