All Irish peacekeepers in Lebanon confirmed safe
Irish peacekeepers in Lebanon are reported to be safe following recent air strikes by Israel. This comes amid rising tensions and violence in the region. Israel conducted air strikes in response to rockets fired from Lebanon. This was the most intense fighting since a ceasefire with the militant group Hezbollah. Despite these events, Hezbollah has denied any involvement in the rocket attack. Simon Harris, the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs, expressed his deep concern over the situation. He urged all parties to exercise restraint to prevent further violence. Harris confirmed that the Irish peacekeepers, part of the UN mission in Lebanon, are unharmed. He thanked them for their efforts in maintaining peace in a volatile region.
