Allentown announces new Latino cultural festival in spring
A new festival celebrating Latino culture will take place in downtown Allentown this spring. Organizers announced the event on Tuesday. Called “Fiesta on Hamilton,” it is planned for May 18 from 1 to 7 p.m. The festival will be free to everyone. Organizers describe it as the "Lehigh Valley's biggest Latin festival." They hope it will become a new annual tradition that brings the community together to celebrate Latin culture. The festival will feature top Latin music acts. Performers include Los Adolescentes from Venezuela, Oro Sólido & El Grupo de Ahora from the Dominican Republic, and Rumba Caliente from Puerto Rico. Local bands will also perform, highlighting talent from the Lehigh Valley. Visitors can enjoy a variety of Latin food from vendors across the region. In addition, Valley Health Partners will host a health fair at the festival, offering free games and giveaways. The event is being organized by the Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, Valley Health Partners, the city of Allentown, and radio station MEGA 101.7 FM.
