Aman Arora, the Punjab cabinet minister and Aam Aadmi Party state president, has issued a strong warning to drug traffickers. He told them they should either stop dealing drugs or leave Punjab. This statement comes as he reviewed the progress of the state’s anti-drug campaign on Monday. Arora highlighted the positive effects of the government's efforts to eliminate drugs. He pointed out that they are using a zero-tolerance approach in their "War against drugs" campaign. He mentioned that the focus is not just on enforcement, but also on prevention and rehabilitation to tackle both the supply and demand of drugs. Since the campaign began on March 1, there have been significant results. Authorities have registered 1,651 cases and arrested 2,575 traffickers. Additionally, they seized 1,322 kilograms of drugs and recovered ₹64.26 lakh in drug money. Arora also stated that illegal properties built by traffickers with money from drugs will be demolished. As Punjab is a border state, he emphasized that maintaining peace and communal harmony is crucial, and strict actions will be taken against anyone who tries to disturb this peace.
