Aman Gupta stresses sustainability's importance for entrepreneurs
Aman Gupta, co-founder of boAt, shared his experiences from a recent global summit at the United Nations Headquarters during a special episode of Shark Tank India 4. This summit brought together investor panels from different versions of Shark Tank. They discussed important topics related to sustainable development goals (SDGs). Aman expressed his enthusiasm about the event. He stressed that every entrepreneur and leader should understand how sustainable development affects the world and humanity. Meeting with global business leaders gave him new insights and expanded his viewpoint. He particularly highlighted the need for focusing on gender equality. The episode featured two interesting pitches. The first was from Ashutosh and Naren, who introduced their sustainable stationery brand. They sought Rs 1 crore for a 3.33% equity stake. Although they did not close a deal, Anupam Mittal recognized their potential and offered to keep in contact. The second pitch came from Sushil and Kirti Vaishnav, founders of Ecoil, which recycles used cooking oil. They asked for Rs 1 crore for a 1.25% equity share. Ritesh Agarwal made an offer of Rs 50 lakh for 1.6% equity and an additional Rs 50 lakh as a loan with a 9% interest rate. After some discussions, the Sharks revised their offer to Rs 50 lakh for 1% equity and a loan. The founders accepted this offer, ensuring funding for their sustainable business. This episode showcased not only innovative ideas but also the importance of global partnerships in making a positive impact.
