Amazon Prime Video launches AI-powered episode recaps for original shows

Amazon Prime Video has introduced a new feature called X-Ray Recaps, using generative AI to provide episode summaries for its original shows. This feature allows viewers to catch up on missed content without revealing spoilers. X-Ray Recaps will offer timed summaries that align with the viewer's progress in an episode. This means if you are halfway through a show, the recap will cover only what you have missed so far. Currently, X-Ray Recaps is available for select Amazon MGM Studios originals, including The Boys and Upload, on Fire TV devices in the U.S. Amazon plans to expand access to other devices by the end of the year.
