Ambulance crash injures two bikers in Kolkata

An ambulance in Kolkata had an accident while transporting an injured biker. This incident happened on the Second Hooghly Bridge at about 3:45 PM on Thursday. The ambulance collided with another biker, injuring him as well. Both bikers were taken to a city hospital in the same ambulance. The first biker, Arpan Biswas, is 33 years old and lived in Howrah. He lost control of his bike and fell on the road. As he was being taken to SSKM Hospital, the ambulance driver hit another biker named Malay Kumar Maity, who is 52 and from Jagachha. Maity suffered multiple injuries in the collision. Biswas was later discharged from the hospital, but Maity is still receiving treatment. Police have taken control of the ambulance and questioned the driver. On the same day, two pedestrians were also injured in separate accidents involving trucks. Jaydeep Ghosh, aged 50, was hit near RD Street and suffered head injuries. He was taken to NRS Medical College and Hospital for treatment. Another pedestrian, Prahlad Ranjit, also 50, was hit near BT Road and sustained chest injuries. He was admitted to RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. Police have seized the trucks involved in these accidents and arrested their drivers.
