AMC to open new theater in Chicago's South Loop in 2025

AMC Theatres will open a new location in Chicago's South Loop, taking over the former ShowPlace Icon Theatre, which closed in June 2023. The new theater, named AMC Roosevelt Collection 16, is set to open in early 2025. The Roosevelt Collection will feature power-reclining seats and a full concessions menu, including a bar serving alcoholic beverages. AMC Stubs A-List members will earn rewards at this location. The ShowPlace Icon was known for its luxury offerings when it opened in 2009. Its closure followed the shutdown of its parent company, prompting property management to seek new theater partners.
