AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D achieves top single-core performance with 5.5 GHz overclock

AMD's new Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU has achieved a single-core score of 3,473 points with a 5.5 GHz overclock, outperforming its predecessor by up to 27%. Its multi-core performance matches the Ryzen 9 7950X and Core Ultra 7 265K. The Ryzen 7 9800X3D features 8 cores and 16 threads, with a base clock of 4.7 GHz and a boost clock of 5.2 GHz. It includes 32 MB of L3 cache and 64 MB of 3D stacked cache. Set to launch on November 7 for $479, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D offers an 8% performance increase over the 7800X3D and a 20% improvement over the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K.
