AMD has released new benchmarks for its Ryzen AI Max+ 395 APU, claiming it to be the "most powerful" APU for AI computing on the market. These benchmarks show the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 surpassing the Intel Core Ultra 7 258V in performance. The Ryzen AI Max+ 395 features a 16-core processor with a peak AI performance of over 50 TOPS. It also includes Radeon 8060S graphics for enhanced processing. AMD is focusing on its ability to handle AI workloads, particularly in applications like LM Studio. Tests in LM Studio showed the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 delivering significantly higher performance than its competitors, achieving up to 12.2 times faster results in certain comparisons. However, the benchmarks vary across different models. While AMD shows strong results with its AI models, it is notable that its performance lead is not consistent across all text models tested. In some comparisons, the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 was anywhere from 4 to 9 times faster. AMD's Ryzen AI Max+ 395 can also outperform Intel's design due to its architectural differences. The Intel Core Ultra 7 258V has fewer cores and is designed for lower threshold AI tasks. The difference in specifications between the two processors highlights AMD's superior capabilities.
