AMD unveils plans for new laptop chips and graphics in 2025
AMD plans to release several new laptop chips in 2025, including refreshed APUs and new gaming-focused processors. The Ryzen AI 300 series will feature Strix Point APUs, while the new Kraken Point will have fewer cores. The Ryzen 9000-series, codenamed Fire Range, will include powerful gaming CPUs, and the Strix Halo chips will offer high performance with up to 16 cores and 40 compute units. AMD will also introduce new Radeon graphics chips with improved specifications. Despite these advancements, AMD faces challenges in gaining market share. Currently, only a limited number of laptops feature AMD processors compared to those with Intel and Nvidia components. More manufacturers are needed to support AMD's upcoming offerings.
