AMD unveils Radeon RX 9000 GPUs to enhance ray tracing and upscaling capabilities
AMD has announced its upcoming Radeon RX 9000 GPUs, set to launch in early 2025. The new RDNA 4 architecture aims to improve ray tracing and introduce machine learning capabilities, addressing previous performance gaps with Nvidia. The first models, Radeon RX 9070 XT and 9070, will target the upper-midrange market. AMD has not released specific performance metrics but promises enhanced compute units and better media encoding quality. Additionally, AMD will introduce FidelityFX Super Resolution 4, its first machine learning-based upscaling technology. Details on compatibility with older Radeon cards remain unclear.
