Amit Shah to discuss new law with Northeast CMs

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will meet with Chief Ministers from Northeastern States on March 16, 2025, to discuss the implementation of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which has replaced the Indian Penal Code in the region. Shah spent the night in Mizoram after attending an Assam Rifles event. He will visit Kokrajhar to address the All Bodo Students Union conference before the meeting in Guwahati. Each state will present its progress on the new law. Manipur's representation is uncertain due to the state's President's rule following the resignation of its Chief Minister last month.
