Amitabh Nag, the CEO of Digital India Bhashini, has taken on additional responsibilities. He is now also the head of AI Kosh and the IndiaAI Applications Development initiative. These projects are part of the IndiaAI Mission. AI Kosh, launched on March 6, provides access to datasets and AI models for researchers. AI Kosh was established with a budget of Rs. 199.55 crore. It integrates data from both government platforms and private sources. This is intended to simplify access to valuable data for AI development. The IndiaAI Applications Development initiative has a larger budget of Rs. 689.05 crore. Its goal is to promote impactful AI solutions to address critical issues in various fields. Last year, the IndiaAI Innovation Challenge was launched to support innovations in areas such as healthcare, agriculture, and climate change. About 900 applications were submitted, and 30 AI solutions were selected for further development. Additionally, a CyberGuard AI Hackathon was held to address cybercrime. The event, run in collaboration with the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre, received 263 proposals, and 20 teams participated in the competition. Evaluation of these projects is currently ongoing.
