Amritsar police arrest drug cartel leader, seize heroin

Amritsar police have arrested a woman believed to be the leader of a drug cartel and two of her accomplices. The arrests happened during an operation to address cross-border drug smuggling. The primary suspect, 27-year-old Mandeep Kaur, is from Ibban Kalan village. Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar stated that Kaur coordinated the drug operations. She reportedly became involved in the drug trade through a relationship with someone connected to smugglers in Pakistan. Kaur even tried to disguise herself as a police officer while carrying out her criminal activities. The two accomplices, Alam Arira and Manmeet, are also from Amritsar and were arrested along with her. Authorities have seized 5.2 kg of heroin during this operation. The police have filed a case and are investigating to reveal more details about the smuggling network and identify other people involved.
