AMU guest faculty faces police charges for alleged abusive remarks against Modi and Adityanath

A guest faculty member at Aligarh Muslim University, Arimandan Singh Pal, has been booked by Uttar Pradesh police for allegedly making abusive remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The incident occurred during a confrontation with security personnel on January 11. Following the incident, AMU issued a show-cause notice to Pal and temporarily relieved him from his position in the Sanskrit department. An inquiry was initiated by the university's proctor on the same day. The situation escalated after a local Congress youth leader filed a complaint, prompting police action. Pal has been charged for using offensive language against the Prime Minister, Chief Minister, and university officials.
