Amy Khor pledges continued service despite constituency changes

Amy Khor, the MP for Hong Kah North, announced her commitment to serving the community after recent changes in electoral boundaries. Her constituency was merged into two larger groups, the Jurong East-Bukit Batok GRC and Chua Chu Kang GRC. Khor made these comments during a walkabout at the Bukit Batok West hawker centre on March 22, along with Prime Minister Lawrence Wong. Khor stated that she will continue to focus on understanding residents' needs and improving their living conditions. She recently opened a new hawker centre and expressed how fulfilling her 24-year journey has been. Many residents have shared personal stories with her, such as receiving educational bursaries. In addition to her walkabout, Khor and PM Wong opened the Tengah Community Club. She noted the importance of this new facility for local residents, offering programs like yoga and cooking classes, with discounts for early sign-ups. Khor emphasized plans to enhance transport services and amenities in the area. PM Wong highlighted the development of Tengah, comparing it to Punggol's transformation. He stressed that building a community involves more than infrastructure; it requires fostering relationships among residents. Wong encouraged participation in local activities to strengthen community ties.
