Amy Schumer praises Mounjaro after negative Wegovy experience
Comedian Amy Schumer recently shared her experience with the weight loss drug Mounjaro, praising its effects after a previous bad experience with Wegovy. In a video posted on Instagram on March 21, Schumer talked about trying Wegovy three years ago but felt nauseous and couldn’t continue. She found Mounjaro through a Telehealth meeting with Midi Health, a service specializing in menopause care. Schumer mentioned that she was prescribed estrogen and progesterone for perimenopause and noticed significant improvements in her symptoms. She said her hair is fuller, her skin is better, and she has more energy. Schumer explained that Mounjaro is primarily for diabetes patients looking to manage their weight. She noted that it is not covered by insurance unless patients have diabetes or severe obesity. Despite this, she said she is having a positive experience with the medication. She also revealed that her good experience with Midi Health led her to invest in the company. Other celebrities, like Scott Disick and Jim Gaffigan, have also spoken about their experiences with weight loss medications, which can often cause side effects like nausea. Schumer previously discussed her struggles with Ozempic, another weight loss drug, saying she felt too sick to engage with her son while using it.
