Amy Slaton's family intervenes after her drug arrest
Amy Slaton, a star of the show "1000-Lb. Sisters," recently faced serious legal troubles that have impacted her family. Following her arrest for drug possession and child endangerment last September, her siblings staged an intervention for her in a trailer for the new season. In the trailer released on March 25, Amanda Halterman addressed Amy, saying, "We need to have a discussion." Amy, however, pushed back, saying it felt like an intervention. Her brother Chris highlighted the seriousness of the situation, warning Amy about the potential for a long prison sentence. Amy was arrested after marijuana and illegal mushrooms were found in her car when authorities responded to an incident where she was bitten by a camel at a zoo. She shares two young children, Gage and Glenn, with her ex-husband Michael Halterman. After the incident, both Amy and her boyfriend Brian Scott Lovvorn entered a plea deal. They received two years of supervised probation and were ordered to pay a fine and attend a drug assessment. Despite the challenges, Amy expressed support for Brian, saying, "We're moving so fast, yet it just makes sense." The family continues to navigate this difficult time together, as they all voice their concerns and care for each other.
