ANA offers highest density Boeing 787-10 flights in Japan
All Nippon Airways (ANA) has announced it operates the highest-density Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner flights, adding more seats than the standard configuration. The airline's 787-10 planes carry 429 passengers, which includes 28 first-class seats and 401 economy-class seats. This setup is designed to serve busy domestic routes within Japan. ANA is Japan's largest airline and operates a total of 86 Boeing 787 Dreamliners, including 10 of the 787-10 variant. While the 787-10 typically holds 336 passengers, ANA's configuration has significantly more seats. This allows them to meet high demand on short-haul domestic flights. The Boeing 787-10 has less range compared to its smaller siblings, flying up to 6,330 nautical miles. However, this reduced range is not a drawback for ANA, as the aircraft is mainly used for domestic routes. Currently, ANA is using these aircraft for nearly all its flights from Tokyo Haneda Airport. In March 2025, ANA has scheduled many flights on busy routes. The major routes include 130 flights from Tokyo to Okinawa and 98 flights to Sapporo. The airline's innovative seat configuration sets it apart from competitors, with EVA Air coming in second with 342 seats in its 787-10s. Overall, ANA's strategy focuses on maximizing capacity for short domestic flights rather than long-haul journeys. This allows them to carry more passengers while still offering a comfortable flying experience.
