Anantnag police solve girl's abduction and murder case
Police in Anantnag have solved the case of a missing girl who was abducted and murdered. The investigation began on March 16 when the Kokernag police received a report about the girl's disappearance. Authorities identified the suspect as Altaf Mir, a 31-year-old man from Lawaypora, Srinagar. Evidence suggested he may have kidnapped the girl. Police initially filed a report under specific sections of Indian law. As police interrogated Mir, he admitted to the crime. His confession led to the discovery of the girl's body in his home. Following this revelation, the police updated the charges in the case to reflect the seriousness of the crime. The victim's body has been sent for autopsy and forensic testing.
