Andhra Pradesh aims for ₹308 lakh-crore economy by 2047

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has called for strategies to achieve the Swarnandhra 2047 goals. He aims to make the state a ₹308 lakh-crore economy by 2047. This includes increasing the per capita income to ₹54.60 lakh and achieving a growth rate of 15%. During a recent conference with Collectors, Naidu emphasized the importance of boosting the state's Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP). He noted that improving GSDP contributes to better living standards and government revenues. Currently, Andhra Pradesh's budget is ₹3.27 lakh crore. Naidu highlighted that the state had a growth rate of 13.5% from 2014 to 2019. However, it fell to 10.32% in the following term. He expressed that even a 1% increase in growth could bring an additional ₹15,000 crore in revenue. The Chief Minister mentioned that key sectors like livestock, horticulture, and manufacturing are vital for GSDP growth. He encouraged Collectors to adapt to economic changes and focus on wealth creation at the district level. Naidu also pointed out disparities in per capita income among districts. For instance, Anantapur district now has a higher per capita income than Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema district, thanks to advancements in horticulture. He urged the Collectors to aim for a 17% growth target this year to meet the long-term goals.
