Andhra Pradesh appoints four Cabinet-ranked advisors
The Andhra Pradesh government has appointed four new honorary advisors with Cabinet rank. This decision aims to enhance the state's development in specific sectors. Each advisor brings significant expertise in their field. Sreedhara Panicker Somnath will focus on space technology. He is a former chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and has over 40 years of experience. Somnath will guide the government on using space technology for various purposes, including agriculture and disaster management. G. Satheesh Reddy, another appointee, is a former chairman of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). He will advise on developing the aerospace and defence manufacturing sectors. Reddy will help with policy guidance and improving business conditions for defence manufacturers. Suchitra Ella, co-founder of Bharat Biotech, will work on promoting handloom and handicrafts. She aims to attract investments and support artisans and small businesses, especially women. K.P.C. Gandhi, a former director of the AP Forensic Science Laboratory, will enhance forensic science policies and infrastructure. He will focus on modern technology, including AI and DNA sequencing, to improve crime investigation. Political leaders have praised these appointments. MLA Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy highlighted the potential for progress under their guidance. He expressed confidence that Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu will achieve new milestones in development.
