Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister sets March 2028 deadline for Polavaram project completion

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has set a new completion date for the Polavaram project, aiming for March 2028. He directed officials and construction firms to address challenges and follow a strategic plan to ensure timely progress. Key components include a new diaphragm wall, starting in December, and the Earth-Cum-Rockfill dam. The wall is expected to take a year to build, with the dam construction following for 24 months. Naidu emphasized quality and safety standards throughout the project. Additionally, 77% of the left canal work is complete, with remaining tenders invited. Naidu also reviewed other projects, including the Chintalapudi Lift Irrigation Project and the Veligonda Project, stressing the need for timely land acquisition and comprehensive planning.
