Andhra Pradesh election commission investigates Tirupati election violations
The Andhra Pradesh state election commission is looking into allegations of serious violations during the deputy mayor election in Tirupati. Tirupati MP Dr. M Gurumoorthy has accused electoral officials of misconduct and failing to ensure a fair election process. Gurumoorthy reported these issues to the election commission earlier this year. He has called for a thorough investigation into unlawful practices and coercion during the election held in February. He also urged the commission to take action against those responsible for not ensuring the electoral process was free and fair. In response to these allegations, Principal Secretary KRBHN Chakravarthi has asked the Director General of Police to provide a formal response. The DGP has been given a deadline of three days to address the claims made by Gurumoorthy. The commission aims to understand the situation better and ensure accountability in the electoral process.
