Andhra Pradesh issues heat wave alert for 58 mandals

The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority has issued a heat wave alert for 58 mandals on Wednesday. Areas in the Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, and Parvathipuram Manyam districts will be most affected. Pedda Devalapuram village recorded the highest temperature at 42.7 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. Other locations, such as Ulindakonda in Kurnool district and Khajipet in Kadapa district, also reported high temperatures, reaching 42.6 and 41.8 degrees Celsius, respectively. A total of 13 mandals in Srikakulam, 18 in Vizianagaram, and 14 in Parvathipuram Manyam are expected to face heat wave conditions. Additional areas in Alluri Sitaramaraju, Kakinada, East Godavari, and Eluru districts will also experience rising temperatures. Authorities recommend that people in the affected areas take precautions. Residents should stay hydrated and avoid direct sun exposure during the hottest parts of the day.
