Andhra Pradesh police file 125 cases on drug violations

In Andhra Pradesh, a major operation against illegal narcotic drugs in medical stores is ongoing. The search, involving police and the Drug Control Administration, began two days ago. So far, authorities have registered 125 cases against stores that stocked narcotic substances without permission. A key case involves the owner of Bhargava Medical Stores in Krishna district. Konakalla Ramamohan has been charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Police plan to arrest him and bring him to court soon. During the investigation, officers discovered over 55,000 opioid tablets, 10,000 tranquilizers, and nearly 2,800 injections at his shop and residence. The head of the Elite Anti-Narcotics Group, IGP Ake Ravi Krishna, noted that Ramamohan had been selling a large amount of narcotic drugs for the past two years. Authorities are now working to identify who bought these drugs. They also reported that the shop owner did not keep proper stock and sales records. Police are looking for the supplier who provided these narcotics in bulk.
