The Andhra Pradesh government has approved the establishment of a second nursing school in Alluri Sitaramaraju district. The new Anoop School of Nursing will be located in Addateegala and will accept 60 students annually for the General Nursing Midwifery course. Previously, the district had only one nursing training institution for its population of nearly 1 million. The new school aims to address the growing need for nurses in the area. The proposal for the nursing school was submitted in September 2022. The new institution will be affiliated with the Area Hospital in Rampachodavarm for student training, with an exemption on the requirement for a parent hospital.
