Andhra Speaker criticizes YSRCP MLAs for absenteeism

Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu criticized the absenteeism of YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) MLAs during the Budget session. He stated that their behavior went against the purpose of their role as elected representatives. Seven YSRCP MLAs marked their attendance but did not remain in the Assembly. The Speaker specifically named these MLAs: Y. Bala Nagi Reddy, Thatiparthi Chandrasekhar, R. Matsyalingam, B. Virupakshi, M. Visweswara Raju, Akepati Amarnath Reddy, and Dasari Sudha. He condemned their actions, saying they behaved like "thieves" by signing the attendance registers and leaving. The MLAs attended the Assembly for the Governor’s address on February 24 but have since boycotted the sessions. Ayyanna Patrudu reminded them that their behavior was not suitable for their positions. He suggested they should reflect on whether their actions were right. All 11 YSRCP MLAs, including Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, have been absent since February 25. They are protesting against the alleged denial of the Leader of the Opposition status for Reddy. The Speaker has warned that action may be taken if false claims regarding this issue continue.
