André Alanzo McKay passed away at age 48

WESTBROOK - André Alanzo McKay passed away on March 7, 2025. He was 48 years old. André was born on December 22, 1976, in Spanish Town, Jamaica. He moved to the United States with his family in 1982. They sought better opportunities and settled in Pownal, Maine. André attended Pownal Elementary School and graduated from Greely High School in 1996. He later lived in Portland before making Westbrook his home. He was an active person who enjoyed skateboarding, snowboarding, camping, and exploring local breweries. He loved attending sporting events, concerts, and festivals. André leaves behind his wife, Leah, and their three sons, Rylan, Camden, and Julien. His parents, Hervin and Lena McKay, and his siblings also survive him. He was predeceased by his younger brother, Steven, whose loss impacted André greatly. A celebration of André's life will take place on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at noon. It will be held at the American Legion Post in Gray, Maine. Friends and family are invited to share their memories of André. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a GoFundMe set up to support his family.
