Aneesah Morrow excels as LSU's NCAA Tournament star
Aneesah Morrow, a forward for LSU, is set to finish her college basketball career in the NCAA Tournament. Known for her impressive rebounding, Morrow leads the nation with an average of 13.6 rebounds per game and has achieved 27 double-doubles this season. At 6 feet 1 inch, Morrow may not look like a typical dominant post player. However, she has established herself as a strong presence on the court. She is one of only two players in NCAA history to have over 100 career double-doubles, and her 1,665 career rebounds rank fourth in NCAA Division I history. Morrow is not only known for her skills but also for her leadership. Her teammate, Mikaylah Williams, describes her as someone who works hard and puts the needs of the team first. Morrow has averaged 18.5 points per game, along with 2.6 steals. She has been nominated for several awards, including Naismith Player of the Year. Though she could attract more attention in the Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) space, Morrow prefers to keep her focus on basketball rather than social media. She believes her performance on the court speaks for itself, regardless of outside opinions. Morrow credits her parents for her success. Her mother, Nafeesah, also a former basketball player, encouraged her to stay active and work hard. After starting her college career at DePaul, Morrow transferred to LSU in 2023, seeking a bigger challenge. As she prepares for the NCAA Tournament, Morrow has made changes to her diet to improve her performance. Despite a recent leg injury, she is optimistic about LSU's chances in the tournament, saying, "If you work this hard throughout the season... why not us?"
