The Minister for Public Works, P.A. Mohamed Riyas, reported that work on land acquisition for the Angamaly-Kundanoor bypass is moving forward. This update was given in response to a question by member Roji M. John during the Assembly session. The government issued a notification on August 29, 2024, under the National Highways Act. This notification is crucial for the land acquisition process. The National Highways Authority of India plans to issue a second notification after conducting a survey. This will be followed by compensation payments to landowners. The Minister also mentioned that progress is being made on the Angamaly bypass. The Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board has set aside ₹275.5 crore for this project. The Roads and Bridges Development Corporation of Kerala will manage its implementation. After the land value is reassessed, further actions will be taken.
