Anna Firth criticizes Keir Starmer's tone towards Badenoch
Anna Firth, a former politician, criticized Keir Starmer for his attitude toward Kemi Badenoch during a segment on GB News. She described his tone as "patronising" while discussing recent political remarks. Firth, speaking on GB News Breakfast, was joined by presenter Eamonn Holmes and others. They addressed comments by Tory mayor Lord Ben Houchen, who believes Badenoch needs to earn more respect from voters ahead of local elections. Firth disagreed with this view and likened Badenoch to past leaders like Margaret Thatcher. Holmes mentioned that Badenoch doesn't need to do much since Labour is having its own problems. Freddy Gray, another panelist, noted that many share Houchen's opinion about Badenoch. Firth pointed out how Starmer behaves during Prime Minister’s Questions, saying he often avoids answering Badenoch’s questions. She argued that he is "incredibly patronising" and depends too much on notes. She recalled a Tory MP who had exposed numerous inaccuracies in Starmer's statements regarding interest rates and inflation. Firth concluded her comments by stating, "The guy's a joke." Meanwhile, polling indicated that Nigel Farage is now favored as a potential replacement for Starmer, with 19% of voters supporting him compared to 8% for Badenoch.
