Annu Kapoor hosts innovative Antakshari competition in Ujjain
Annu Kapoor recently hosted an Antakshari competition in Ujjain. This event was part of the Vikramotsav 2025 festival. It was unique because it featured not just Bollywood songs but also Sanskrit shlokas and Hindi dohas. Many spectators attended, with about 7,000 people gathering at Tower Chowk to enjoy the performances. The event showcased Ujjain’s rich cultural heritage. Contestants performed various songs and poetry, combining tradition with entertainment. One highlight was Annu Kapoor’s performance, where he sang popular songs like "Deewana Hua Baadal" and "Sawan Ki Ghata Chhayi." He encouraged the crowd to join in, turning the area into a lively musical experience. A fun segment of the competition involved showing scenes from films. The audience had to sing the related songs, which excited everyone, especially when "Havan Karenge" was played. Six teams of 24 participants competed fiercely, showing off their talents. Annu Kapoor shared his thoughts on hosting Antakshari. He has enjoyed the role since he was selected at the last minute to replace another host. He aims to highlight lesser-known songs from Indian films through the show. During the event, he also urged the people of Bhopal to keep their city clean.
