Annual Oyster Roast benefits Lowcountry children in need
On March 27, the Carolina Children’s Charity will host its Annual Oyster Roast at Bohemian Bull in James Island. The event aims to raise funds for Lowcountry children facing birth defects and childhood diseases. It will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Beer Garden at 1531 Folly Road. Tickets cost $35 in advance and $40 on the day of the event, if available. Children 12 and under can attend for free. The ticket includes all-you-can-eat oysters, BBQ, and sides. There will be a cash bar available, with happy hour from 4 to 7 p.m. The band "Late For Dinner" will provide live music during the oyster roast. After the oyster roast, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., everyone is invited to enjoy more music from The Shakin’ Martinis, with no ticket required. The event will also feature a silent auction online and a live auction in person. Carolina Children’s Charity was founded in 1987. It helps children with birth defects or serious illnesses access necessary services and equipment. Since its start, the charity has provided over $4.8 million to help local children grow and develop. The charity offers grants for therapies, medical equipment, and care. Community support is essential for its success, and the funds raised will help children continue to receive support for their needs. More information can be found at www.carolinachildren.org.
