Anthony Gose transitions to pitching with New York Mets
Anthony Gose is transitioning from outfield to pitching as a lefty reliever with the New York Mets. After struggling as a hitter, he returned to pitching in 2017 and has since worked his way back to the majors. Gose, 34, has pitched in six Grapefruit League innings this spring, allowing four hits and one run while striking out five. He has not batted since returning to pitching and is focused on his new role. The Mets are the only team that offered Gose a minor league contract this offseason. He aims to prove himself and extend his career on the mound.
