Anthony Jennings to star in horror-comedy-drama "Mother Maybe."

Actor Anthony Jennings will star in a new international film titled “Mother Maybe.” This horror-comedy-drama marks his debut in global cinema. The announcement was made during the Hong Kong FilMart 2025, according to Variety. The film, directed by Filipino filmmaker Sonny Calvento, is a joint project by Southern Lantern Studios from the Philippines, E&W Films from Singapore, and Volos Films Ltd. from Taiwan. Jennings plays the character Marco, who reunites with his long-lost mother. However, he soon finds out that she becomes “something monstrous” at night. Calvento expressed his admiration for Jennings, noting his natural charm. He believes Jennings can effortlessly switch between comedy and drama, which is crucial for his role. The director considers the film a tribute to his own mother, who left when he was young. Production for “Mother Maybe” is scheduled to begin in late 2025. More details about the film are yet to be announced. Currently, Jennings stars in the action-drama TV series “Incognito” and recently appeared in the film “Sosyal Climbers” with his partner, Maris Racal.
