Anthrax confirmed to perform at Black Sabbath tribute event
Scott Ian, co-founder of the band Anthrax, shared his excitement about performing in the upcoming heavy metal event called Back to the Beginning. This concert, set for July 2025 in Birmingham, celebrates legendary band Black Sabbath and features a star-studded lineup. Ian has been a lifelong fan of Black Sabbath, having first listened to their music at age eight. Ian learned about the concert from musician Tom Morello, who is the musical director. When Morello reached out to him, Ian quickly agreed to participate. Initially, he thought the event would be limited to just Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath. However, he later discovered that many top metal bands would also perform. Surprised by the inclusion of numerous bands, Ian suggested getting Anthrax involved too. He emphasized that other members of his band love Black Sabbath as much as he does. Shortly after his suggestion, Morello confirmed that Anthrax would be part of the lineup. The event is expected to be a big deal in the heavy metal community. Ian mentioned he would also be involved in other performances featuring Black Sabbath songs. With many bands like Metallica, Slayer, and Pantera set to join, the concert promises to be an unforgettable night for fans of heavy metal. A full interview with Scott Ian will be published soon.
