Apple develops new Magic Mouse with improved charging design
Apple is developing a new version of the Magic Mouse that will fix a design issue many users have raised. Currently, the charging port is located on the bottom of the mouse, making it unusable while charging. Although charging is quick and not frequent, users have found this design inconvenient. Mark Gurman from Bloomberg reported that the updated Magic Mouse will have the charging port moved to a more practical location. However, Apple is not expected to release this redesign until at least 2026. The existing design has been criticized and even turned into memes online. The new Magic Mouse is also set to be more ergonomic, making it more comfortable for users. While exact design details have not been disclosed, there are hints that Apple may look to popular models like the Logitech MX Master 3S for inspiration. This model features an ergonomic shape, a front-facing charging port, and other advanced features. Overall, the Magic Mouse has seen few updates since its initial release in 2009. Changes have included switching to a built-in rechargeable battery in 2015 and changing the charging port to USB-C last year. The current model sells for $79 in the U.S. individually, but it comes included with the purchase of some Mac computers.
