Apple plans smart home camera launch for 2026 with millions in annual shipments
Apple plans to enter the smart home IP camera market in 2026, aiming for annual shipments of "tens of millions." Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reported that Goertek will be the exclusive assembly supplier for the new device. The camera will integrate with existing Apple products and target a share of the global market, which sees 30-40 million units shipped each year. This marks Apple's first move into this segment. Earlier this year, Apple also explored home robotics and is developing a new smart home display. The smart camera is expected to enhance user experience through integration with Apple's ecosystem.
