Apple plans to launch iPhone 17 Air in 2025 with new OLED display technology

A report indicates that Apple may launch the iPhone 17 Air in 2025, featuring a new OLED display technology called touch and display driver integration (TDDI). This technology could make the devices thinner by combining touch and display layers. Novatek, a Taiwanese company, plans to start production of TDDI displays in the second quarter of 2025. Apple is expected to be one of the first customers, although it remains unclear if they will adopt this technology. The iPhone 17 Air may have a 6.6-inch display with a smaller cutout for the Dynamic Island. Other rumors suggest it could include a 120Hz ProMotion display and a more scratch-resistant AR layer.
