Apple reconsiders launch of Apple-branded TV set as new smart displays approach
Apple is reconsidering the idea of launching an Apple-branded TV set, according to Mark Gurman's latest newsletter. This evaluation will follow the release of new smart display products, expected in early 2025. The first product will be a lower-end smart display, often referred to as "HomePad." A higher-end model with advanced features is also planned, but its success may influence Apple's future in the smart home market. If the initial smart displays do not perform well, Apple may reassess its plans for a TV set. Currently, Apple focuses on its Apple TV boxes and the Vision Pro headset for home entertainment.
